Girls on the Run!

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00pm
February 27 – May 10

Girls on the Run is an after-school program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade girls that inspires them to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique. The cost of the after-school program is $275 (sliding scale financial aid available), which includes 20 lessons, a t-shirt, water bottle, healthy snacks, and entry to the season-ending Girls on the Run 5K on Sunday, May 6. Inclusive Schools Week

Inclusive Schools Week is an annual, nationwide, K-12 celebration of our year-round efforts to promote and build inclusive, welcoming school communities that embrace and support people of all natural and diverse abilities, sociological and cultural backgrounds.

Monday 12/4:
Rainbow Day: Wear As Many Colorful Clothes As You Can Day: The colors are all different, but together they make a beautiful rainbow ISW Student Art Project on Display. Classrooms to do art activity and paste snowflakes to the art display.

Tuesday 12/5:
Mismatched Sock Day- It is ok to be different

Wednesday 12/6:
Meet Someone New Day- Let’s get to know someone we don’t know well better. Sit with someone new at lunch.

Thursday 12/7:
Penguins United Day: Wear Your HMCRA Penguin Wear

Friday 12/8:
Pajama Day: Can’t think of a connection here:)

Thankful Kindergarten

Food Drive

It’s one for the books!

Thank you, Harvey Milk community!

In under 48 hours, we came together to fund 11 book projects at Harvey Milk for a total of 619 new books! Yes, nearly 40 generous donors funded $7600 worth of fantastic books that span all subjects—including sports, graphic novels, cultural diversity, phonics readers, Frogs and Toads, and Georges and Marthas.  The shelves at Harvey Milk are now overflowing with books, and we are overflowing with gratitude. Thank you, donors, for your incredible support of literacy and reading at Harvey Milk!

Parent Ed Night for Puberty Cancelled

Due to reasons out of our control, the parent education night scheduled for tomorrow with Superstar Health Education for puberty is canceled. The puberty education for the 4th and 5th grade students will resume next week as previously planned.
