Carnival is coming closer and we like to announce our Raffle Prizes. Check you child’s backpack for Raffle Tickets. Need more tickets, ask Ms Antonae in the office. Raffle tickets cost $5 per ticket or $40 for 10 tickets.

SFUSD has adopted a new way of rating school quality, and your opinions will be a part of that system! This short survey is very important to helping us understand how we can improve the school. Welcome to Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy! You’re about to join a great little school in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood.

Kindergarten is coming closer and it’s time to register at your assignment school. Registration period for round 1 is March 19-23 and April 2-6. Our school office is located on the main floor in room 106.

You are invited to our Annual Spring Carnival Saturday April 21, 11am-4pm! Join us and take the opportunity to meet our principal, Mr Machado, and our two Kindergarten teachers. Enjoy a fun day at HMCRA while talking with current parents and meeting fellow kindergarten families at the school. We will host a special welcome for all of our new students and have information to share about the upcoming school year.

Coach Glenn’s Exploration & Sports Camp

Join us for the best Summer of your life!

Coach Glenn’s Exploration & Sports Camp is a Day Camp that is devoted to the physical, emotional and social development of children. We offer 4 sessions for children five through 15 years. Coach Glenn’s Exploration & Sports Camp will offer services from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.   The children will be exposed to a wide range of activities including sports, arts and crafts, socialization, small group activities, field trips and academics.Coach Glenn’s Exploration & Sports Camp will offer a low student to teacher ratio and well trained staff. Summer Camp runs from June 11th – August 3rd, 2018

Read-a-thon Results

Congratulations on a great school Read-a-thon! Harvey Milk students logged over 95,000 minutes of reading in under two weeks and received 45 gift cards to local bookstores during our daily Read-a-thon raffles.

The Top Readers in each classroom received award certificates at today’s Morning Circle, and our Top 3 Reading Classes–Rooms 100, 202, and 205–will soon be receiving class prizes. Joint SSC/ PFC Meeting

Tuesday, March 13
Dinner at 6:15pm; Meeting starts at 6:30pm

Please join us for a special joint meeting of the School Site Council and the Parent Faculty Club, where we will review data from our recent parent survey and discuss our community priorities, goals, and budget for the 2018-2019 school year and beyond. Free childcare is provided. Parking on the school yard is available starting at 6pm.

Come early at 6:15pm for a nourishing, vegetarian dinner prepared with love by our very own HMCRA student chefs!

The Harvey Milk Drag Show is THIS SATURDAY!

The competition between staff and parents is heating up. There’s still time to vote for the contestants. Now is also the time to get your tickets in advance! In addition to the contestants, there will be half a dozen seasoned drag performers, as well as the headliner Laganja Estranja, from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

RSVP for childcare at school 
YMCA staff will be offering child care at Harvey Milk school during the Drag Show: Saturday, March 3 from 4-8pm. Dinner will be provided by the PFC. Children who are between 4.5 and 12 years of age are eligible. Your friends’ children can join, too. RSVP must be received by Thursday, March 1. A $5 minimum donation per child is requested. Join the entire HMCRA community in celebrating the achievements of many of our black students. There will be multiple performances and speakers.
Food and refreshments will be provided for all.
Dinner will be served at 5:30-6:15, program with follow after.
