Stay Connected
- Weekly School Newsletter – Families are automatically enrolled at the start of the year. This is our primary way to share school updates and Parent Faculty Club (PFC) news. Email communications@harveymilkpfc.org for any questions.
- Community Newsletter – Sign up to hear about broader Castro neighborhood events and opportunities to support our school.
- Social Media – Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for photos, reminders, and frequent updates.
- School Calendar – Add the Harvey Milk Google Calendar to your calendar to stay on top of events and activities.
Join Us at Events
Invitations to events will be emailed close to the date of the event.
- Harvey Milk & Cookies – Late March, after Round 1 offers. Accepted and waitlisted families are welcome. Meet our TK and kindergarten teachers, talk to current families, tour a classroom, and enjoy milk and cookies! Bring the whole family.
- Back to School Picnic – Mid-August, before school starts. Kick off the new school year with food, fun, and community at our annual picnic/potluck—families, students, and staff all welcome!
- First Day of School – See the SFUSD calendar.
- Back-to-School Night – Early September. Meet your child’s teacher, explore the classroom, and learn more about the year ahead.
- School Night Events – Throughout the year, we host events, like Math Night and Craft Night, and welcome families that are interested in the school.
Signup for Before- and After-School Programs
Our before- and aftercare programs are run onsite and run by Mission YMCA. They typically have spots available for any student who needs it, but please sign up as soon as possible so the YMCA can staff appropriately for the fall.
Support Harvey Milk
- Classroom Supplies – Contribute directly through our DonorsChoose page.

- School Supplies – No supplies are needed. The only thing students should have is a backpack (labeled with their name), as books and papers come home daily, and a lunch, if they are bringing lunch from home.
